Backstory
Kai never knew his father, nor his mother, although he knew that his father was an surprisingly adventurous Ostian adventurer whom wandered over to Ryoushu, slept with a hired girl or two and then ended up dead in an alleyway. He was raised by a pair of lovers that were incapable of having children of their own, they lived in Caotsu, and thus Kai spent the majority of his life there. Kai did not have the smoothest of upbringings, his parents being relatively poor traders, but they got by, regardless of the fact that Kai didn't mesh overly well with the other children his age, largely due to his introverted personality, rather than his heritage. Kai took a deep interest in Martial prowess from a young age, and often watched warriors train and fight, practicing their movements himself over the years, he also dreamt dreams of Wanderlust, particularly about his fathers homeland, Ostia and other such lands from across the sea.

After turning sixteen, Kai more or less immediately became a sellsword, he did most anything as long as the price was right, and his prices were a lot lower than most others; as such, he was soon chased out of Ryoushu after a job gone wrong, this however, did not particularly bother him, as leaving Ryoushu was always part of his plans, and as such, he headed straight for Ostia, catching a boat across the sea.

Kai was confronted with one, rather large problem upon landing in Ostia, at Bellmare; that problem being that he could not speak the peoples language. As such, for quite a while Kai found making a living quite difficult, until eventually he found himself a small mercenary company to insert himself into, seeing as said mercenary company had rather simply instructions such as "Kill him", "Protect her" and "Steal that."

After much wandering with this band of mercenaries, he found himself with a rather basic understanding of the common language, and at this point decided to do some traveling by himself about the continent in which he found himself, and after a few years of traversing the land, he joined up with a band of adventurers for an expedition into The Savage Lands; he barely made it to Estavyr alive.

Dual blade fighting style - He is experienced in the use of dual blades, and seeks to master them.
Broad understanding of weaponry - Put something in Kai's hands and he can probably use it, largely due to the time he spent as a mercenary, and bar fights.
Unarmed combat - Can hold his own in an unarmed fight. Jab, jab, flying phoenix kick of the gods.
Acrobatic - Kai's balance and flexibility could earn him a place in a circus, he reaches places that most others wouldn't even think about going to.

Equipment
Upper Body: Dark brown, half-sleeve leather jerkin worn over a light, padded black gambeson.
Lower Body: Padded and laced dark brown leather pants, sturdy black belt which holds various pouches and his sheathes in place.
Feet: Laced black leather boots, weathered.

Weaponry: Two steel, cusped falchions on either side of his waist and an iron dagger strapped below his left knee.
