Biography: Born in the great nation of Aldinor, in the city of Evesar, Hlarvey was born into an elven patrician family of somewhat moderate influence in the city. Born into House Fyr, he was brought into the world of coin, commerce and politicking and was eventually to become a cog in the machine that was the Aldinor powergame. Hlarvey Fyr since as a boy was instructed to play the confidence game, to shill, to shell, to lie,to manipulate and to swindle those who could not keep hold to their money and to be the best business man there could be.
When Hlarvey wasn't busy doing work for his house, he was to be taught the basics of magic by an older relative of his, one of his uncles, uncle Thendas. Hlarvey took a shine towards it, looking into the arcane, neromancy and looking into Aeromancy for a while. Hlarvey decided after perusing the different schools, decided to specialize in the Arcane when he learned of telekinesis and thought it was a cool trick. He was much more interested in the art compared to swordplay but was never too disciplined for the art to obtain a firm grasp of it. His first 23 years of his life was peachy and fine, being a quaint patrician living comfortably.
When one day he learned his uncle Thendas was looking into Sciomancy as well Necromancy when he came upon his room and found books about the two schools of magic ,His interest was abruptly abandoned when. Knowing that his uncle was a man of influence, he chose not to say anything and tried to push himself away from the art.
After doing so, Hlarvey was put under a haze of suspicion and wandered into the realm of cloak and dagger. Hlarvey's uncle had not tried anything but Hlarvey himself saw ghosts of what ifs and could bes. Knowing that his uncle could press his influence to remove a "liability to his livelihood", Hlarvey became interested in becoming a transparent man, able to blend into the crowd and leave no foot print. For about 10 years, Hlarvey spent his time become an adept at being a cowled fool. A decade later, his uncle decided to have him found and have a real talk with him, on why he dropped the art. Hlarvey, stunned by how capable his assets were able to find him, he was sure he was gonna be roast chicken on a spin.
His uncle decided to have the conversation at a family reunion party with all the patriarchs and matriarchs of the expansive and extensive glorious Fyr family his Father Llethan, Uncle Dorvayn, Uncle Marvos, Uncle Golathyn, Aunt Ulessen, and even Aunt Irna was there to witness the conversation.
His uncle Thendas was simply studying the art's educationally so that he could plant incriminating evidence on a rival's angsty and framable son, with no means to actually dable into the art. The conversation became the laugh of the whole party, everyone was having such a tot, at how foolish young little Hlarvey Fyr was.
Hlarvey has ever since, been so ashamed of it. Afterwards, he took up being taught magic by Uncle Thendas. Hlarvey was never bad at magic but he was never a stellar student, taking a liking to being a shrew merchant, finding his decade into being a foolish lurk in the shadows to be fun. His hobby of visiting his House approved of brothel also took a punch out of his time and money.
Hlarvey has since then, lived a patricians life instead of a fool's misconception. Until recently, at another family reunion, the patriarchs reminisced at the laugh they had when Hlarvey was told he was fooling himself. They thought he was such a character and that perhaps he'd be a good candidate to ship out to Estavyr to hack out an attempt to obtain a good piece of trade and influence. Hlarvey Fyr was peer pressured by his brothers, sisters, cousins and friends, constantly reminding him of his adventure into being captain cloak and dagger. He went berserk, the pressure was unbearable for him, bearable for someone just slightly more competent. Hlarvey Fyr was shipped out with some expendable assets and goods to get his new business started.

Journal:
Day 13 Of Estavyr: Hlarvey Fyr the First, of Estavyr.
Spoiler:
Today, I have started a journal as i sit at my desk, feet up, eating fish, something Valan caught, I realize that I am going to need this journal to keep a log, a story, of what has happened, first day in, i become the target of patrician war, my man framed and killed and now i barely hold on to my profits tooth and nail, slowly dwindling on cash. I made like, 59 gold today, its hard to sell wine in Syndhall. Two cases of very cheap wine, i barely made money from it, I'm just glad this was all paid for by my father's adventure fund he made after he had his.
I remember i told, Sophia i think, about the story of Hlarvey Fyr, the first, I certainly think its all spooey, the tales told by my parents and their parents. I certainly know we did start with wine but, we seriously didn't strike the market with lighting and thunder like some Astramancer. If that was true, i'd have Syndhall by the ear if i had a 9th, or 6th or whatever the count is.
I honestly should have set up shop in the noble district but moving wares up there would've been annoying and arduous, I wish Dip didn't die, he was a good servant. Though he was annoying as hell, no idea of safe fun. What a pity all that training failed.
I think i should start writing down what i think about people as well, i need to list out the customers and antagonists, maybe some notes on them as well... 59 gold up, 70 gold down, today was a bad day...

Thoughts on people:
Spoiler:
Deidre Moss: "What an unkachit freaky woman, two dead birds, ostian spoof captain." Aderyn Gray:"What a weird kid, bought some food i think, called me crazy...We'll see whose crazy." Aeoric Bladeturner:"Some odd island bum, bladeturner, hmm, i wonder if this guy is a smith, bad for buisness for Krasen if." Joffreid:"Pretty big, ostian accent maybe? Plate armour, hmm, Deidre said boarblades with plate are, what was it? Arrogant? Guy had a pretty edgy attitude, possibly liability if hired for merc work. Kradic: "WHAT A SPOOFEY POOFY MILK DRINKER!" Sophia: "My best friend here in Estavyr, damn shame she's so cold, pretty, tempered and quite a buisness partner, if ye know what i mean, ehehe, eheheehe. I gotta meet her sister though, she might be fun. Kai:"What a falchion edgy son of a bitch, he's probably gonna be that ryoshu merc who backstabs his friends and family for money or something. I better be watch out." Hadric Surreit:"Pretty cute for an undertaker, a shame she's always tired looking, i wonder what she does all day; Hmm, must be working alot, i wonder how much money she has...Those logs were pretty extensive, must be spent maybe on a family mausoleum?" Gruuk:"Ugh, what an orc, disgusted a female customer i had, should've not been so brash but whatever." Sarah Kaedwin:"What a woman, she thinks and she's pretty, but her face rests, a bit, distantly cold, I hope she isn't like Sophia or something." Titus Haktal"Titus, an interesting guy, odd though, I expected a more pissed off mercernary guy from Asevia, hmm. He might be a good person to associate with if i need some help with assassins or just human supremacists." Atumok:"God, fething, calls me a milk drinker and insults me, I hope that guy doesn't come to my damn shop."

Magic Journal and Tome notes:
Entry 1:TK
Spoiler:
As I have just finished today's journal entry, i think i should use this time to reflect on my magical skills and spells. I was never a great student, more interested in making coin and girls girls girls, i should have studied and become like my cousin Guriorpa, straight spell spitter. I'm just glad i spent the last ten years trying to grasp metamancy. Its a shame, i still wasn't that great at it.
Well, anyhow, just as Uncle Thendas says, reflect and think about your magic or become your cousin anasssen and become a mana addict. God, what a fething looser, trying to do tk tricks for money or to get some girls, guy was so strung out, couldn't even tk rub together two coins.
So, back to this, lets reflect now. My only stable spell seems to be telekinesis as they call it, I just call it TK. Telekinesis is basically just being able to grab something, any object with your mind or in this case, molded mana and move it. I've recently learned from lifting a shelf that mana use if proportionate to the weight perhaps, or the surface area maybe? I've to test that out sometime but oh my god, its so hard to get some time in, everyone and their mother comes to my damn store.
I TK killed a cat, splated it against the wall, i've got to get a rein of myself when i get mad. I wonder how well i can TK grab someone, a thief maybe, but thats far ahead what i want i have limited myself for now. I need to practice how to gauge my mana use with TK, i think perhaps maybe i could get better at it with time, more efficent maybe or just more stronger.
This magic stuff is quite, daunting, intimidating and scary, i fear im gonna strain myself and just leech my life. I need to chart out other spells and make some more notes as I go.

Skills: Patrician's charisma: Cultivating an aura of desirability and a goodlooks, Hlarvey Fyr is simply charismatic. With a classic beautiful elven face and a tall and limber physique, one might find it really hard to argue against it. He may not the brawny heroic figure but his voice is sure smooth and soothing and with his easy on the eyes face, he's definitely not in the negative in Charisma score.
Merchant Prowess: Once a conman, always a conman, you cannot shill this shekel shark no matter how hard you try. His family training and work experience has taught him to see things for their value and know how to appraise them well. He is a talented merchant and is hard to outmaneuver in haggling.
Magic training: With about 23 years of training in the arts, about half of that being fully disciplined, Hlarvey Fyr is a Competent mageling, a bit out of touch and not skilled, he may not be talented or proficient with magic as he could but, he knows a few things, much more than he knows of sword fighting. His specialization into the Arcane is currently novice like output, regretting his ill gotten habits of being a poor student in his youth.
Cloak and dagger tomfoolerly: For a decade, Hlarvey Fyr was engaged in being part of the shadows, he spent a good amount of a decade learning about poisons, to be suspicious anything and anyone. He picked up some knowledge on how to use a few weapons like a dagger, jewel knife, karambit. He's by no means an expert, he's quite the novice.

Talked it over with good old Cakebread, and I'm happy to put it through.
Magic is mild at best, given good explanation in the backstory, and there's no harm in a seedy merchant :)
