Just as importantly these nations border a small mountain settlement known as
Estavyr. Chiseled out of a famed mountain laden with an unnatural amount of precious metal and ore, Estavyr has established itself as one of the biggest economical assets in the world. It's famous metals have traveled as far as to the eastern continent. This is where the RP is going to be based, with plenty of time exploring the world through events and quests. Estavyr is independent of it's neighboring nations and is usually left out of their affairs. Born from an exile's will, Estavyr is home to many vagabonds and outcasts that aren't allowed rest elsewhere. One of the few places savage races are allowed to rest their head, so long as they work the mines. Many pilgrims from all over the world find peace in the mountain home, which has turned Estavyr into a melting pot where all the world's cultures tend to blend together.
Estavyr is a civilized as it gets, with a council of
famous families at the top, with local landlords and other representatives beneath them. The only races allowed land are humans, dwarves, and elves which are the most populous nations in the world. This has kept political power entirely in their control with many other races simply existing beneath them. The family council has established a guard corp and garrison to protect the city and enforce
the law. Most settlers find work in the massive interconnecting mess of mines that burrow through the mountain, or as adventurers working out of the various guilds dotting the city. Estavyr is home to an array of adventuring and mercenary companies thanks to it's vicinity to the Savage Lands. Others find work manning a massive quarantine, battling away at a invasive fungus. The
Boletum Quarantine is a dangerous field of fungus that invades the minds of those who dare live near, but the poor find plenty of work battling it's creeping vines and lingering taint.
Estavyr's most unique feature of all may be it's
district system with the entire city divided into three district outcroppings on the mountain. The highest district, Gildren, is closest to the peak and reserved for winter hardened folk and the wealthy. The Syndhal quarter which is the largest of all, home to the merchant class and commoner who makes use of it's massive wharf. Traders come through on the Ceryn to trade goods and haul away metals to the rest of the world. The Fenplatz is the lowest district, making it's home on the western banks of the mountain bordering the Savage Lands. This is where the Boletum Quarantine is and the invasive fungus at it's worst. The poor are tend to gather here in it's boarding homes.
Roleplay will shift between these districts, with three different maps on server to represent them. Expect the server to change daily in hopes of keeping the RP fresh and enticing. Your characters do not need to be confined to one district as they are all connected in different means. Your characters make use of tunnels connecting them, as does the rest of the city, and you are welcome to play any character on any map as you see fit.
