Physical Description
Grallin Donberry is a young man taking in the wide features of a healthy people. He stands at a height of roughly five feet and seven inches tall, with soft layers of fat cushioning him from almost all sides - the only exception seems to be the top of his forearms. Grallin’s shoulders are placed well enough atop his body, his limbs a fair size, but seeming dwarf and stubby by his weight. His round features constitute a jolly facial structure set with a full chin, large nose, narrow eyes, mounted atop a thick under-chin and neck. His round features add to the appearance of his weight. He has no facial hair to at most times, letting it build up to no more than stubble before having it trimmed. Aside from his eyebrows, his late wife wanted nothing bushy about his face.
Upon his head is neatly triimmed, cropped, black hair. The hair usually keeps itself neetly, but just before its cut again, it usually starts to drift itself to a side, as to allow excess hair to hold behind one ear. Bright blue eyes look out at the world from above his full rosey cheeks. Grallin has no distinguishing unnatural marks upon his flesh save the simple mole in a couple spots. Grallin is very clean, very hygienic, though his teeth are stained a slightly yellow color due to his frequenting of sweets in his youth. Though Grallin might be a tubby, jolly man, there's something about his voice when he's determined, that makes him seem reliable enough to maybe place a bet on.

History
The story of Grallin Donberry is a simple one, and needs no trumpet horns or drumrolls. It begins with a large village in Aldinor, placed immediately outside one of its larger cities. Grallin's mother ran the inn, which also served as the village's mayoral hall, trade center, and strong point in an attack. She was a wider woman, plump, but active and healthy. Her husband was a more normal man, a carpenter's sort, who always kept up the inn's condition.
Grallin had a happy childhood, but didn't get along with many of the other children. Though he'd eventually reach their height, he grew slower, and had much less a love for causing a ruckus. He was much happier in his younger days learning from his mother how to make food, or rather, eating the extras when she was done! He would grow up with the care of his parents, and he'd be set on the right path. Eventually he'd grow up, do as all young men do, make friends and forge relationships.
Not long after, Grallin wanted to take up a profession, and his parents had some extra money to help him succeed. The first stop for Grallin was the city their village was based around. He at first apprenticed under a stonemason, but he hated the feel of rubbing his hands down on stone. He felt much more comfortable working in his mother's kitchen, so to help pay the debt owed to the stonemason, he worked at a local kitchen. Grallin learned the work quickly, and enjoyed it so much, he was able to repay the debt to the Stonemason before his next year of lessons began. Fortunately enough, this time was long enough that Grallin learned that he didn't want to be a stonemason, and quit his apprenticeship.
Longing to be a cook, Grallin sought to hone his skills in that kitchen and more. Working his way along, serving food and drinks. Working as a lacky for other cooks, cleaning crews, and whatever it mean to get him further along. Grallin was determined, and in that determination, he made his way. He soon found himself working at a local corner grocer, preparing raw foods to be sold to customers, but also operating ready to eat meals. He worked here for some years, loving the job that he had found, and soon he would come to love more. Grallin's future wife, a woman named Matil, frequented the bistro section of the grocer, and Grallin used the opportunity of preparing her food to get to meet her.
He was a funny, approachable, kindhearted man - she was willing to give him a shot. Thankfully for Grallin, he took off without a hitch. The classy woman dressed in robes was surprised by the man's calmness, his patience, and general outlook on life. He wasn't a fighter, or a revolutionary, but he was passionate in his own way, and kinder than anyone she knew, he won her heart and they were long together.
Matil was a sorceress, and that made her seem all the more impressive to Grallin. She was also of a poor constitution when it came to disease, and often her spellcraft made the risk of becoming ill greater with each time she pursued the art. It wasn't a craving for magic that drove her to cast, but it was something in her like Grallin knew cooking was to him. It was an art that she could do, it made her special, she wanted to, even if carefully. Grallin never denied her that, and she honestly did try to make her magic use minimal. For awhile, she had almost abandoned it. Having gone over a year and a half without a single spell cast.
That was until a terrible night when fate drew her to use her powers to their fullest after a long period of abandonment. The resulting shock to her system drew on her own immune system as well, and she grew greatly ill. As all times before, Grallin waited on her the entire time, and enlisted the best help that could be found. Grallin spent exceptional amounts of money, sold everything he owned, did everything he could to save his wife - but in the end, it wasn't enough.
The night she passed away, and the day after, Grallin mourned. The next, she was prepared for burial, and after the funeral in two days time, Grallin left their home and the city behind him.
Calling all the assets he had, selling his home and receiving his final pay from working at the place where he and his wife met, he made the decision to pursue a new career in a new place, Estavyr. Why this is, what motivated him, and how his happiness remains intact are mysteries only Grallin may answer. The only thing that seems different about him as opposed to how he acted in Aldinor, is now he shows interest in joining The Watch in Estavyr's city.

Chef's Fillet Knife, Meat Cleaver, and Meat Tenderizer-Weapons designed for the organized destruction of organic material... though, normally its target is already dead. These are not weapons by any means, but Grallin has gotten used to holding them. Since he carries them often, if a drug-crazed cultist attempts to kill him in the street, Grallin might fight back... maybe.
Armor:
Chef's plainclothes-A nice full apron sits over Grallin's corpulence, of a good quality material that makes most liquids wash off with only some staining. It sits over entirely normal linen garb.
Misc:
Wedding Ring Pair-Two pleasant wedding rings, one upon each ring finger, sit upon Grallin's hand. The man is exceptionally reserved in regarding taking them off. He if he ever removes one, he removes the other. There will never be an exception.

Traditional Moist Cake-A delicacy of the civilized, coming from unknown origins, cake is a wonder to behold. It is no wonder that Grallin is so well versed in making it.
Crusted Cheese and Tomato Meat Pie-Placing beef, bacon, steak and other choice meat pieces along with cheese and tomato sauce all encased inside of a white-grain crust. This is baked, to a lovely golden brown, and served with a side of garlic butter. Can be eaten on the go, but messy, recommended to sit down.
Breaded Fish Bake-A simple dish. A portion of fish heated, buttered, spiced, then wrapped in a dough crust and baked. This can then be eaten by the hands, with utencils, or what have you. Good on the go!

Not sure why this even needs to be in approval.

Cause I'm a whore for attention. Also, I wanted to apply for his high cooking skill, and have a page in place if I'm able to later apply for the Watch with him.
Also, keep in mind he can cook a lot more, I just put some generic recipes up there that he'd be like to cook. It's subject to addition whenever I feel creative. I won't add any purple+ food though, at least not without an appropriate cause.

I'm sorry, but what would constitute an "Epic" dish?

That might actually be a truly brilliant and accurate example.
