- Biography:
"Well then, allow me to tell you how I got here then, but lets go a bit farther back then that...
My father was a blackshmith in his younger years, forging tools both for people's craft and war. He took up arms against a pack of bandits that were raiding the village, he came out mostly unscatched by the aid of some other townsmen and the town guard, the latter noticed how he was basicly a natural with the very weapons he crafted. He was concvinced by the more rewarding job, and so joined the town guard, he soon became one of the best swordsman the town had, not even organized brigands were a match for him as I heard him boast...
Anyway, he found the love of his life at some festival, he tried hard to get clsoe enoguh so he could talk to her, each attempt met with less succes, it was by chance that they finaly met up at the end of the festival and it's revealed she felt the same way for him, they married not that long after and moved to a city where she lived, kind of a bit to early in my honest opinion... But that doesn't matter now.
My mother was a herbalist, gathering herbs outside of the cities and using them to help cure the ill, she knew more then about herbs though, working as a doctor when healers weren't available, mostly fixing my dad up after he had to do his job.
Aproximetly nineteen years ago, a child was born, but a woman died. Yes, My mother died during childbirth... My birth... It was tough for my father, both he and my mother had so hoped of having a happy little family. As I heard some of my father's friends say, he was drunk for weeks, and he considered putting me up to be adopted, not because he blamed me, more because he feared he wasn't fit to raise me alone... I still kind of feel guilty about what had happend...
Eventualy he kind of, "snapped", he stopped drinking immediatly and went back to his older proffesion as a blacksmith and showed barely any emotion, he raised me as any parent would do. He also trained me in using the very weapons he created, aswell as teaching a few things on how to use the forge, never to it's fullest of course , never got strong enough to hammer hard and lift lots of steel and iron.
My father would meet his end sooner then anyone would have expected, he fell extremely ill, and refused to accept any treatment, no matter how hard I tired to convince him, he always responded the same, saying I needed the money more and he would meet "her" soon...
In his last hour, he revealed to me where he got his strength from, my mother dreamed of one day moving out to travel the world, she would have traveled to the coldest of snowplains in Ostia and the most dense of forests in Ryoshu, he realized that if she coulden't, atleast thier son should be abel to accomplish the dream of being an adventurer. On that day, I sold all of my parents assets to move out to become what my mother coulden't, an adventurer."

- Skills:
Very high agility: His primary strength is his agility, you will mostly see him dodging or parrying and striking quikly rather then blocking or strinking hard and slow.
Medium skill with one-handed swords and polearms: Trained by an ex-guard wich is his father, he would know a fair bit about the use of these weapons, however, anything more heavy will be extremely less effective.
Medium skill with crossbows: occasionaly one of his fathers friends would come over and check if everything is alright, he sometimes brought his crossbow with him and teached Gerald a few things about the use of crossbows and bows.
Low Crafting: Having learned a fair bit form his father, he can create some things, while he lacks the required physical capabilities to create anyhthing heavy like a warhammer, he instead would mostly spend his time refining the weapon in question, decorating, tempering or sharpening it with trained precision wich would also aid him in maintaining some items.
Low charisma:While having no problem approaching anyone when he means business or deems it neccesary, he will not as easily initiate dialogue towards strangers.
very low endurance: His primary weakness is how one hit ccould take him down very easily, as he is more fit for dodging. He will have more problems with blocking unless he parries with a weapon. He can quikly be overpowered because he is easily fatigued when he has to use strength continuosly, wich also makes him unabel to wear heavy armor.

| Providing his agility is his strength, and his endurance is very low, I'm taking he won't be in many fights. You would need endurance to maintain dodging swings as well as striking, you would also need a level of muscular strength to block effectively. Not that I'm saying this is bad, I'm just letting you know.
I like that you know about polearms, they were very common, very widespread/inexpensive, very useful weapons. Spears, pikes, light-poleaxes were very useful for keeping armored enemies back, tripping and controlling the flow of a fight, engaging mounted units, and more. Good choice, I like it. A skill with one-handed swords is feasible as well, but wanted to express my enjoyment towards the polearms choice.
Crossbows need little to no training to use at a functional level, to save an extended rant, I'll just say I'm fine with your skill in crossbows. The lessons of the crossbow are not quite interchangable with the bow, however. The ammunition was different (even if slightly in some cases), the firing perspective (archer's paradox and cannonade) differed, and preparing a shot required different actions and emphasized different habits. I'd differentiate between them.
With our conversation on your character, I'd move your skill in crafting to low. The unused skill festers, and since you don't plan on making a use of it, it might do well to show that it's a little rusty. I'd say your description still fits, I'd just re-rank it to show it better. Also, keep in mind performing maintenance on your equipment isn't necessarily a craftskill. I'd sooner group it with a weaponskil
All in all, I think this character is pretty good. I'd probably change the sword to iron since swords themselves are generally a good price, and steel itself is a fine metal and hard to make. But, that's just me.

| Thanks for your feedback, I shall be changing and explaining the things you mentioned accordingly.
What I meant with Endurance is rather how much attacks he can endure, hit stamina remains unaffected or pehaps is even improved by his agile nature. What I think about his strength is that rather then being weak, he posseses average strength, but his muscles tire more quikly from continuos use as in, he can't hold a heavy shield, wear heavy platemail armor and such for too long. This doesn't affect his running and agilty because it's very short outbursts of movement rather then continuosly providing resistance, the only reason blocking is such a dangerous act for him is rather because he didn't rely on it as much as he should and so his skill detoriated to a point where the only way to avoid getting hit without dodging would be to parry, and because he isn't exactly the "immovable object", his light build will make him easily get knocked off his feet, especialy if he isn't prepared sufficiently. However, if he gets trained, these weaknesses might be offset, he jsut has to recieve some motivation and perhaps aid from a more experienced user of these skills
On the bows part I can understand that they don't share the same skills, but each makes up on anothers short comings while crossbows might be easier to aim with, hit farther and harder, they are slow to reload depending on the mechanism. Bows however, are slightly more complex to aim with, hit at a medium distance and strength, but have no restrictions to how fast you can reload and fire. Just felt like pointing out what I thought, regardless, I shall be removing the archery because he would require more training in one of his previouly stated weaknesess before he would be capable of using it anyway.
Will do, it isn't one of his primary requried skills and will likely make me feel more comfortable with fixing the suspicion my skills might be a bit too OP.
The idea behind the swords orgins was that this was one of the lastest blades his father made, rather then being something he bought, if that isn't okay, then I guess I will change it to Iron.
And the praise on my character's proficiency in polearms is much appreciated, you will likely seem hims wielding a bladed polearm or peraps even a halberd quite soon.

| You're character was never OP. XP
A steel sword is okay, I was just stating an alternative, and why that might work. Your skills are good, I was just giving some opinion on how I thought they might be better fleshed out.
