- Early Life:
Thandir was born in the region of Aldinor in a village outside the city of Renari. Thandir's father was a lumberjack and his mother took care of the house while his father was away. For the most part of the beginning of his life, his mother would teach him to read and write. He would often play with the other children in the village and occasionally help his father carry wood back to their cabin to burn for the winter. When Thandir was 10, the village began to become plagued with the threat of bandits. They would rob the inhabitants of the village and rob those who travel near the village. The town guards of Renari tried to contain the bandits but, the guard were unsure of where they were hiding out at. It seemed useless to work, just to have your coin taken away from you by thugs. For this reason, Thandir's mother and father made the decisions to move up north to High Haven in Ostia.
The trip was hard and got colder as they went farther North. When they finally reached High Haven, they barely had any food left to eat and didn't have much money left. Thandir's mother got a job working as a house maid while his father, who brought his tools from their home in Aldinor, built a new humble abode. When Thandir was 13, they had finally established themselves within High Haven. They had a home and a stable income. Thandir's mother continued to teach him and Thandir began to work more and more with his father. Thandir wished to make friends and quickly did so. He made many friends quick with his ability to talk smoothly.
When Thandir was 15, his mother began to show signs of illness. Thandir was put at home to take care of his mother. His mother's illness began to worsen more and more as time went on. It got so bad that the village medical practitioner came stated that he wasn't sure if she would make it. He spoke of an herb, that was found in the caves of the mountains in the Winterwood. His father, determined to save her life, ask Thandir to come with him. Thandir gladly accepted and they left for the Winterwood the next morning. The trip to the Winterwood was filled with hardships. The wind was bitter and cold and food was meager. When they finally reached the Winterwood they began searching caves frantically to find the herb. The herb was described as having 5 leaves and seemed to have long cylindrical stem. They did not initially find this herb and it may have been 2 or 3 days until they finally did. They have no recollection of how long it took as they had lost track of time from lack of food and sleep. Immediately after finding the herb, they quickly made their way back to High Haven. When they arrived they were consumed with sadness and shame. Thandir's mother had perished from the fever. Thandir's father tried to calm Thandir down but, to no avail. Thandir, blaming himself for his the failure to save his mother, became depressed and broken. Thandir maintained this emotion until he reached the age of 16 where he was free to go off on his own.
- Adult life:
Shortly after leaving High Haven, Thandir traveled to his home region of Aldinor. Thandir, without a job or money, became a street beggar. One day while sitting along a street, Thandir was approached by an older human gentleman. This man introduced himself as Noemon Virieux. This man asked "Why do you beg for food, elf?" Thandir looked at the man in a way a young child looks at his mother for forgiveness "Because I am nothing more than a failure." The man scanned his eyes over the young elf dressed in tattered garments, "Do wish to seek redemption?" The young elf looked at the man as tears streamed down his face before speaking in a broken gravely tone "More than anything, sir." The man looked at the young elf before speaking softly "What is your name?" The young elf introduced himself as Thandir Orvir. The man smiled before reaching his hand down the elf and speaking in a soft tone "Take the hand boy, there is no shame in accepting help." Noemon pulled Thandir to his feet and smiled softly, "Come with me boy, we have much to do." Noemon and Thandir made the hike from the town of Lyra to a small set of hills which contained a large manor on top of them.
Noemon and Thandir talked as they walked to the manor. Thandir told of his shame he had thrown upon his family and especially his father. Noemon offered some advice, "We all make mistakes, but we cannot spend the rest of our lives pitying ourselves. We must go and gain back our honor, go and restore our inner balance." Thandir, for the first time in quite a while, smiled. When Thandir and Noemon finally arrived at the manor, Thandir asked why had Noemon brought him here. Noemon told Thandir to follow him. They entered the manor and the interior was truly a work of art. Thandir looked around in amazement as he admired the craftsmen ship of the interior. They continued walking through the house and Noemon took him into a secluded room which contained a surprising amount of archery weaponry. Thandir stared in wonder at the various bows and armor which was placed in various spots in the room. Noemon approached a rack of bow, some small and some long. Some made of oak wood, others made of maple. But, all of them beautifully crafted with care. Noemon looked over each and everyone, occasionally looking back at Thandir. He did this for around 2 minutes before finally picking up a long bow and approaching Thandir. He smiled softly at Thandir before placing this bow in the dirt covered hands of Thandir. Thandir looked at the bow before turning his gaze back to Noemon. Noemon continued to hold his smile "Young elf, I will teach you the way of the bow. I will teach you the way of the land, and you will restore honor to yourself and to your family." Thandir smiled once more before speaking again "Thank you." Noemon smiled and took Thandir in as his own.
Thandir was cleaned up and given new clothes. Everyday he would get up and assist in a taking care of the two cows Noemon owned. He would milk and feed them, after doing so Noemon would began teaching Thandir how to handle, shoot and craft a bow. Thandir began to acquire new skills as time went on. After becoming proficient in crafting bows, Thandir went onto learn to craft leather armors. While Thandir has always had trouble in this, he was able to make an armor that could get the job done. Noemon taught Thandir how to live off the land and how to create fire when fire wasn't able to be easily created. Thandir spent years and years serving under Noemon but, as all creatures do Noemon aged. Towards the end of Noemon's life, he began putting more and more responsibility on Thandir. Within the final year of his life, Thandir was practically running the Manor. On his death bed, Noemon told Thandir to take the money from his trunk, take his bow, his set of armor, food and water and travel the world. To enjoy life and do good for the people of the world. Thandir smiled and thanked Noemon for all he did. Noemon smiled and told Thandir he was like a son to him. Thandir told Noemon he was like a father, and with Noemon last dying breath, Noemon said "Good luck, son." Thandir, with a tears running down his face, Nodded and collected his gear. He set out to explore the work and do as much good as he could for the people he came across. His first destination, Estavyr.

| I would recommend expanding on your skills section, such as telling us more specifically what he can do, and possibly for bow crafting; what his best work has been up to now. For the light armour crafting; Is he able to tan leather? Does he cut it all himself, form and toughen it?
From the sounds of his skills and his backstory, he is quite a woodsman, and so when you say stealth, I'd be a bit more specific, such as, what environments is he good at, or what is he doing when he's sneaking around.
Other than that, seems pretty kosher.

| Noemon seems a little bit creepy, but I suppose he was just a man looking for a son. It'd be interesting to go a little bit further into his story and motivations, but it's not completely necessary for this page.
The biography could benefit from being divided into distinct paragraphs that cover the different parts of his life. Just to make it easier to read and comprehend. A "Long Black Cloak" isn't really a distinguishing feature - what if he takes it off? A distinguishing feature would be like a scar or something.
The skills look good, I guess. I like that you included a variety of non-combative ones. Just be careful with stealth - it can easily devolve into an OOC argument about whether or not the character can be detected. Also, you spelled "prey" wrong.
Overall, I like this character. He has flaws, and (hopefully) is more than just a guy with a bow. His age is right for a young elf (it occurred to me that Noemon could've been as young as early twenties when he first met Thandir, that's a nice touch). There's a lot of potential for growth and development. Good job.

| I moved this out of approval, but there was one thing I noticed - you said that at 16, he was "free to go out on his own" but 16 is extremely young in elf terms, like a young child almost. Maybe say he ran away, instead. Or something.
It's just a nitpick, which is why this was moved. You can adjust it when you can.
